This article explains how to create and use Audience Segments. An Audience Segment refers to a subgroup within a larger audience that shares common characteristics such as distinct preferences, behaviors, or needs. Segmenting audiences allows you to deliver more targeted and personalised messages, resulting in more effective communication and higher levels of engagement with your audience.
For example, you can create a segment for all contacts who's birthday is in May and send a promotional offer, or you can create a segment for all contacts in a particular town if you're organising an event in that region.
Create a Segment
Navigate to Contacts > Segments and click on New segment:
Give your segment a name, and select a segment category.
- Now configure how you want to segment your list by adding properties - for this example, we're using the location contact field.
- You can configure additional properties when needed by clicking on the +AND and +OR buttons - for this example, we'll include an additional location.
Once you're happy with your criteria, click Save. You can now preview matches by clicking on View matches.
