Contact lists page

- List name
- Added date - this is the date the list was created
- Contacts - total number of contacts in the list
- List email - this is an alias used when sending SMS via email
- Shared by - if the list is shared, the names of the sub accounts that can access it will display here
- More options icon (⋮) - if you click here you will be presented with further options including Send message, Edit, Manage list sharing, Export contacts, Delete list
Creating contact lists
To create a new contact list, click on New List:
In the resulting modal, you can give your list a name and create a list email. A list email allows you to use the Email to SMS feature to bulk send an SMS via email.
Sorting contact lists
Contact lists can be sorted by name and by the date they were added.
Sorting lists by Name
Click Name to sort your lists in alphabetical or reverse alphabetical order. When the arrow next to Name is pointing down, your lists will be sorted from A-Z. When it is pointing up they will be listed Z-A.
Sorting lists by Added date
Click Added date to sort your lists from newest to oldest, or oldest to newest. If the arrow next to Added date is down, lists are sorted from oldest to newest. When it is pointing up, they are sorted from newest to oldest.
Sharing contact lists
As an administrator of the parent account, you can share contact lists with all or some of your sub accounts. This means that your sub-account users will not need to re-create contact lists that already exist under the parent account.
Note: Shared lists can only be managed by administrators at the parent account level. Users and administrators accessing the sub-account can only view and send to shared lists. If you require any modification to a shared list please contact a parent account administrator.
Navigate to Contacts > Lists then click more options (⋮) and select Manage list sharing.
You will then be presented with a modal that allows you to select the contact lists you want to share and the sub accounts you intend to share them with.
Exporting contact lists
Note: You can use this method to download your list of unsubscribed/ opted-out contacts.
- Navigate to Contacts > Lists
- Select the lists you'd like to export and then click Export. The list will be downloaded as a CSV file.
- You can also export single lists by clicking more options (⋮) and selecting Export Contacts. The list will be downloaded as a CSV file.
Deleting contact lists
Important: Deleting lists and contacts is irreversible so please ensure you have exported the list first if you may need it in the future.
If you no longer need to send to a selection of contacts that you have grouped together you can choose to delete the list.
Navigate to Contacts > Contact lists and then click more options (⋮) and select Delete list.
You will then be presented with a modal that allows you to select the contact lists you want to delete. There is also an option to delete the contacts in those lists. Once you've made your selections click Delete.
Note: If you choose to also delete the contacts it will not only delete them from the list but from the entire database. To only remove contacts from a specific list, you should instead use the Manage lists feature.
